An odd pigeon has just landed in my garden. It is larger than a Collared Dove, has the usual grey/blue head and neck, but the middle parts are salmon pink with light brown tints, and the tail feathers, along with the longer wing feathers are all white. It has two rings on its legs. a pink one on the left, and a white one on its right. There is a thick white smudge above its beak, in the same way some feral pigeons have. Could this be a confused racing pigeon lost its way? |
