Howden's Pullover-quad 3,Donna Nook. 3 Little Egret 1 Greenshank 1 Richard's Pipit(Flushed from bankside by a Little Egret,then watched feeding in adjacent ploughed field,giving excellant views). 3 Water Pipit(In same fields as Richard's Pipit,with large mixed flock of Skylark and Rock Pipit's). 2nd wint. Glossy Ibis(Watched feeding in the Cattle inclosure,giving excellant views,a stunning bird!!). 1 Jack-Snipe(flushed by one of the Highland Cattle). 1 male Stonechat Rimac 1 Water Pipit(on fresh marsh,near car-park) 3 Little Egret 1 Green Sandpiper(on roadside pool,near Rimac entrance). Legbourne Cattle Egret(Showing well in it's chosen field,getting it's fill of earthworms). Covenham Res. 39 Goldeneye 1 juv. Shag(resting on water tower). 3000+ Common Gull's 1 Barn Owl Regards Steve,with Dave Wright. |

Also in the trees behind the Cattle Egret at Legbourne was a Buzzard and Kestrel giving excellent views Mistle Thrush and Redwing in the field Lots of people at Howdens Pullover The Glossy Ibis was a bit more elusive when I got there. Eventually it was flushed by a microlight aircraft forcing it to fly back towards Donna. It settled but wasn't seen again until it flew back towards Howdens settling out of sight again I am told (mid afternoon) Also in the area were Marsh Harrier Hen Harrier (ringtail) Merlin chasing a Skylark or Pipit Stonechat Little Egret Water & Rock Pipit - no sign of Richards |
