Grid Ref: TA187042 early afternoon

While driving easterly along A46 saw two raptors at the above grid reference, all I could make out was their white rump, neither was a male Hen Harrier, so I presume they were either two females or two juveniles or a combination of both. It was impossible for me to stop as I was leading a line of traffic at the maximum legal limit. The only place I could have stopped was quite a way further at the Irby turn-off.

Bradley Woods: 13.30 x 15.00

Brambling - 1 female
The male had been showing earlier according to Richard Pipe. This was my first visit, but certainly not my last. Never seen so many tits... For the begiiner to birding it's a good place to get up close and personal with the birds.

Tetney foreshore and saltmarsh: 15.30 x 16.25

Little Egret - 1
Plus c1000 waders including Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank, Dunlin, Lapwing, Curlew, Oystercatcher and Knot. Not too sure about Sanderling.
Plus others Shelduck, Cormorant and usual gulls.

Saw a big flock of whatever over Tetney village and another biggie well out over estuary. Although I have no idea what they wereI did enjoy them flying back and forth.

To cap it off nearly got locked in, didn't know the gate is closed at 16.30!

I'll catch the nutter next time.

I think it would be best if everyone keeps calling me Max, he is the birder and I am the writer. And I'm damned if I can get used to logging in under my real name, plus when I need to look up old posts I'm still looking for Max.
