Post subject:  Over the garden: 30.12

As I was finishing filling the feeders spotted the gulls on way to roost. Why I decided to keep scanning I'm not sure but glad I did. Coming from a south-westerly direction was some birds in V-formation. At first thought they were geese from a distance, as they passed overhead saw they were Curlew, twenty-two of them. Going north-easterly.

Never seen Curlew fly in V-formation before.

A good sighting for Riddings.
