Great Northern diver at Covenham , Monday a.m. Still retaining much of it's summer plumage and well worth a look. ( same bird seen near Lincoln recently ?? )
8 Whooper ( 5 adults ) plus a single Bewick on Branston Island early p.m. They all eventually flew off across the river and settled in a field on Branston fen.

Pete

I do not think the diver at Covenham is the same bird as at Thurlby, The back markings are slightly different, looking at some pictures I have taken, and I personally think the Covenham diver showed slightly more summer plumage features.

Also today on Branston Fen

8 Whoopers present including 3 juveniles associating with 9 Mute swans no sign of any Bewick's.
