Stroll at dusk between Marton and Gate Burton produced a pre-roost gathering of at least 3000 rooks and 500 jackdaws, an extremely noisey spectacle. No raven in with them I'm afraid although the sheep-grazed parkland nearby looks good. Cheers Brian |

There is a similar dusk pre-roost gathering to be seen next to the A631 on the Gainsborough side of West Rasen. |

There is a similar roost in Welton le Marsh low wood consisting of at least as many birds. The whole lot pass over my house every morning just after dawn and have done so for at least 50 years. |
