An early waxwing caught and ringed this morning, with a slim scattering of finches, thrushes and sparrows. Three adult whoopers landed on Tennyson's early am - one had a yellow ring on left leg.

Two firecrest and a Lapland bunting yesterday.

Cheers

Kev

reports of a lack of rowan berries in Scandinavia suggests a good Waxwing winter may be on the cards and no doubt explains the high numbers of Redwing and Fieldfare streaming inland over recent days
