hi Simon, Superb Record, have you ever seen them before in central park/brumby woods? I had one-a young bird fly onto a crane at Rainham steel earlier this year, but that was probably a normamby park bird, your record is much more interesting, regards, Roger. |

First bird turned up in 1999, fed on a peanut feeder all winter. Miles Hopper can to see it quite alot but it disappeared in February 2000. Had a few lean years and the next bird that turned up was a juvenile which I found dead at the side of Pitwood House, 2003. None turned up in 2004 but in 2005 a single bird again fed on a peanut feeder from the 9th August to 20th October. 2006 was a good year, single bird all through February and a male was calling in Brumby Woods on 29th April and again a single bird fed on a peanut feeder from 3rd October to 22nd November. This is the first time I have seen two birds together. |
