Hi Trevor,

No mistake as 3 Common Snipe feeding only metres away and excellent views obtained through scope ( had it with me this time!) on far left pool as you sit in hide. 5 Grn sands in view too but an unseen raptor obviously appeared and no less than 18 Grn Sands flew up and over. Some obligingly settled in front of hide.

JS was feeding for about 5 minutes, classic bird, before flying left in to long grass and vegetation. First JS I have seen this year so I was thrilled, then the Raven and Hobby on way home put the icing on the cake!

Cheers

Ian

Wouldn't have thought it was that early Trev - it is September now... although this is the first reported in the whole of the UK this autumn, I believe...
