Baumber Park 31st August

Yesterday evening, Wednesday, I found an immature Whinchat on the farm boundary of an untrimmed grassy 'dry ditch' which only runs water during the late winter. This is a favourite site for this species when they occur which is less than annual.

This morning there was a flock of 15 Yellow Wagtails amongst the cattle at West Ashby. Passage has been taking place for the past fortnight but today was the largest flock so far.
