Post subject:  Freiston Shore & Woodhall Airfield 26/8

A visit to Freiston Shore over the high tide had the following of note;

Common Tern - 4
Great crested Grebe - 4
Eider - 15 (all imm)
Peregrine - 1
Hirundines - c.1000 feeding over saltmarsh/tideline, mainly Swallows with some Sand Martins

Realignment area
Little Egret - 56

Lagoon
No specific counts made but in descending order of numbers included Oystercatcher, Redshank, Dunlin, Turnstone, Knot, Ringed Plover and Black tailed Godwit

General sightings
Tree Sparrow - 8
Willow Warbler - 1
Yellow Wagtail - 10

Woodhall Spa Airfield
Dominated by the larger species present

Cormorant - 46
Greylag Goose - 672
Little Egret - 1
Lapwing - 6
Pochard - 7
Egyptian Geese - 8
Plus also present but not counted Mallard, Tufted Duck, Gadwall, Coot and Black headed Gulls
