Three green sandpipers feeding this morning on standing water adjacent to oil drums within the Tetney oil terminal site. Only visible (intermittently) from the roadside.

Also on a different part of the same site, 12 feeding fieldfares along with 20-plus starlings and two pied wagtails

I have today been warned by the operators of the oil terminal that anyone watching birds/ taking photographs through the perimeter fencing is likely to be "challenged".

This is for security reasons because of the sensitivity of the site.

That's understandable, but disappointing - it's just the sort of place that a black redstart or something unusual might turn up.

I was advised to redirect my "bird spotting" to RSPB Tetney Marsh.

Oh well . . .

Better not tell them about Google Earth then.
