General sightings around part of the reserve included a female Bullfinch, Song Thrush, Goldcrests and 2 Buzzard
Deeping High Bank
Great White Egret - 1 at c.TF 244,143
Two groups of swans were located feeding in fields to the west of the Welland. The first at c.TF 234,140 consisted of 92 birds which included; Mute Swan - 49 Whooper Swan - 43 (2 imm)
The second group in fields by the minor road to Deeping St. Nicholas at c.TF 221,141 consisted of 114 birds which included; Mute Swan - 89 Whooper Swan - 25 (6 imm) So giving a total of 68 Whoopers in the area.
Also noted along the river were; Goosander - 1m Tufted Duck - 30 Little Grebe - 5 Great crested Grebe - 1 Cormorant - 1 Greylag - 17 Mute Swan - 8 Buzzard - 1 Kestrel - 2
Unfortunately I failed to locate the Long-tailed Duck
