I dropped in hoping for the Purple Sand on the way back from a couple of hours at Huttoft, arriving about 12.15. I was tipped off about the Wiigeon which was showing well near the tower. It was quite vocal. The Purple Sandpiper was just over the wall from the Grange Lane steps when I arrived and had worked its way left about 200m by the time I left. Two whoopers were there when I arrived But could not be relocated later.

From photos the bird is clearly not an American Wigeon but some type of hybrid possibly involving Chiloe Wigeon

I have put a couple of pictures in the 'discussion birds' section of the album.
