The use of twitter has increased rapidly over the last 12 months.

Most rare/interesting birds news is available first on twitter, often appearing on the LBC Forum later...

The LBC welcomes the responsible use of twitter to share bird information.

When reporting Lincolnshire bird news on Twitter PLEASE include the text @Lincsbirding.

All "tweets" which have the text "@Lincsbirding" will be read and will be added to the LBC database as long as there is DATE and LOCATION information included.

As a follow up to Andrews post could I also nudge twitter users towards #'s. Rare Bird Network is a free Twitter bird news service that has come up with hashtags for counties. If you are lucky enough to find a rare or scarce bird and everything is in place to put news out, please add #rbnLIN to your message which will help raise the birding profile of the county by collating records together when searched for. If you visit either of the Lincs Wash reserves and would like to pass on bird sightings through twitter to the team, please add @RSPBNorfolkLinc and #rspbFrampton or #rspbFreiston These will be used in our weekly roundups and passed on to our visitors. Thank you.
