An early afternoon visit to Winters Pond produced a nice assortment and a query.

Curlew. c80
Starling. c60
Mute Swan 2
Buzzard. 1
Teal. 5
Mallard. 18
Coot. 19
Moorhen. 5
Chaffinch. 1
Gadwall. 6
Tufted Duck. 13
Gt Crest. Grebe. 1
Magpie. 2
Crow. 5
Kestrel. 1
Greylag Geese 4
Grey Heron. 1
Marsh Harrier. 1
Blackbird. 1

Greylags were part of a small flock of around 15+ that appeared to include 1 White Fronted Goose with the others displaying hybrid markings ranging to all white. Good ID a bit difficult as birds were around far hedge bottom before disappearing into far field. Opinion is wild birds have bred with escaped captives but need a more expert opinion than mine, I think.

Peter,

Note that hybrid Greylags can show a lot of white behind bill, suggesting white-front origin...

This picture is a good example of a bird with a 'white-front' that isn't a white-front!

Thanks Andrew, you are most likely to be right as there were big variations of markings in the flock which I had not come across before.
Thanks for your advice, appreciated and always welcome.
