A couple of month has passed since my last outing so decided to visit my local patch and then one not exactly local but one I particularly like as do others but hadn't seen owt from it for quite a while, as it turned out I stayed put on the patch thankfully ![]() Carr Dyke: 13.30 - 14.15 Kestrel - 2 Moorhen - 1 adult + 1 juv Buzzard - 2 together Linnet - 37 Marsh Harrier - 1 Wood Pigeon - 46 Behind the two flying Buzz I spotted a kite not seen one being flown for years ![]() East Butterwick: 14.20 - 14.25 Common Gull - 38 Kestrel - 1 Black Bank: 14.35 - 18.35 Crow - 17 Rook - 9 Wood Pigeon - 20 LBB Gull - 2 Common Gull - 16 Black-head Gull - 22 Kestrel - 2 Moorhen - 5 adult + 1 juv Mallard - 2 adult + 7 juvs Lapwing - 55 Buzzard - 5 ( 4 in air together & 1 in a tree) Merlin - 1 Golden Plover - 20 Pheasant - 2m 3f 7j Goldfinch - 14 Two bi-plane flew over (pics) Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance flew over (pics) and landed at East Butterwick oddly I never saw it take off must have been too busy watching the antics of the Buzzards. Really enjoyed the outing never saw anyone I knew but did see a birder further down the bank while I was busy watching the voles. Looking forward to next trip out all being well. 01.10 Carr Dyke: 14.40 - 15.40 Kestrel - 2 juv Wood Pigeons - 22 Buzzard - 1 Moorhen - 4 Black Bank: 15.55 - 18.55 Moorhen - 4 + 1juv Great Tit Chaffinch Lapwing - 84 Golden Plover - 16 Kestrel - 3 Buzzard - 2 Magpie - 4 Crow - 29 Rook - 174 W Pigeon - 16 Assorted Gulls - 19 Pheasant - 7 juv Another pleasant day savoured EXCEPT for a mishap at Carr Dyke next to the pumping station, there had been a "foul" by a dog grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr so much for doggy bags, not in this instance! I didn't tread in it but parked car in usual place only to run over it and even with the windows closed the car wreaked of ***** for the best part of an hour YUCK. Was praying for rain in the hope it would wash it off, but we didn't get any so ran along the grass verge to get it off, and it worked. Enjoy the laugh on me ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards Max |
