REPORTED from the rare bird news services today:
Lincolnshire Cattle Egret ESE/of Epworth just N/of Susworth at Barlings on bank of River Eau with cattle 14:50 DN17 3AW SE839032

No idea why Epworth is included its the other side of the Trent. There are two herds of cattle one on each bank of the Eau and the plastic bag can be with either. They can also move between Susworth end and Scotterthorpe so it can be a long walk.
On the south bank of the Eau there are green footpath signs on all the gate posts but a rotund ( being polite) horse person stated that the bank is private and there is no footpath so you must assume that the green arrows and the word path do not actually mean path!
The northern side has no rotund women but more thistles to walk through

reportedly present first thing this morning but then flew off south-west and not seen again --don't know who the observer was another anonymouse person --

Cattle egret present 16.45 this afternoon with the Cattle not far from the bridge that crosses over the Eau,(Scotterthorpe end)eventually flew off up the river west towards the trent,first saw it going east towards the cattle on arrival,,
Nice to get it As i thought it had gone from what id heard,but thought what the hell nice walk..

1 Little Owl disturbed off post nr buildings Susworth end on way back was a bonus!!

Cattle Egret still present this afternoon, viewed from the Susworth end of the River Eau until 4.45 pm when it flew towards the Trent.
