This afternoon at Occupation Lane, Walesby:- 5 Lesser Redpolls, 23 Goldfinches, 4 Siskins, (feeding on the seed heads of rosebay willow herb), 1 Jay, 5 Great Tits and 15 Bullfinches (9m 6f) in the blackthorn thicket on the right hand side. On my way home there were a further 7 Bullfinches by Walesby Grange. The 15 are the most I have seen at one time in 32 years of monitoring the site. |

If I wanted to enjoy this Finch-fest for myself, what would be the best time of day to take a walk down this road? |

I saw them at 3pm but yesterday at the same time the area was devoid of any birds! It's just pot luck. |
