And a garden lifer for us today – it was with mixed feelings that our first magpie appeared on the bird table this afternoon. In the 7 years we've been in Louth town centre, we've had 30 species, including herring gull, carrion crow, woodcock and mallard. Costs us an arm and a leg in bird food!

I'm on 36 species at the moment - my dream is to attract a Hoopoe to the garden! Also hoping for wintering Chiffchaff.
