141013 0700 to 1800

Another well busy day with lots of birds around all day. Spent the first 2 hours in Mere Hide but no sign of yesterday’s Spotted Crake. Following records are all North of Mill Pond Road including Aylmer clearing, Measure’s, Mead’s, Shoveler’s and north of North building. Vismig was occurring all day with finches and thrushes still going over at 5.30pm

Hi Nige,

Only addition to your very impressive list is a Yellow-browed Warbler, feeding in the sycamores to the rear of the Yacht Building at the start of the cycle track.

Two Richard's Pipits were on the marsh east of the Sleeper Track

And a red-breasted fly was seen in the sycamore clump at the northern boundary of the Reserve off Drake Road. Also woodlark on the saltings nearby (per John Nicholson)

No sign of the RBF at 5.15.

Also a grey phal reported on Birdlines etc for Gib today apparently in the south west corner of the Reserve - any more news on this bird appreciated - thanks
