Hi, Four Bearded Tits in the reeds on the far of the Reedbed from the visitor centre this morning. They were first seen yesterday and represent the first non-fly over birds for the reserve. Hopefully they'll be a regular sight from now on. We also introduced 5000 Rudd last week thanks to the Environment Agency, so keep a look out for Bittern... Cheers, John |

I have to agree about the rudd. In November 2009, I introduced 23 '4 inch' individuals into my garden pond and after only 3 breeding seasons there are now more than 1,000. One is almost sucked into the water at feeding times. |

They're just in the Reedbed. Let's hope the Bitterns approve of their rabbitesque breeding reputation. John |
