Just had about 20 waxwings feeding on red rowan berries outside the PC Coaches depot on the main entrance road through Crofton Road Industrial Estate, off the eastern end of Monks Road.
Possibly the mobile Cherry Willingham flock?

Nice lunchtime surprise.

Cheers
Brian

PHEW!! I've just got home after negotiating the warren of roads with their lines of parked cars around the Crofton Road area (2.00-2.30). There are 3 PC Coaches sites in the area : 1 office and 1 office/depot on Crofton Road, both with red berry supplies outside....but nothing to report, and then another PC Coaches Depot on Dowding Road, just off Crofton Road.

Unexpectedly, it was at this 3rd port of call that 4 Waxwings were seen, insect catching from the top of a Sycamore with no red berries in sight.....super close views.
Also a pair of Mistle Thrushes around.

Thanks, Brian, for the lead.

Freddy
