A nippy couple of hours on the reserve this afternoon yielded:-

Scrapes/ Reedbed

Barn Owl
Snipe
Ruff
Redshank

Grassland/ Saltmarsh

Merlin
Kestrel
Pink-Footed Geese
Whooper Swan
Grey Plover

Hedgerow

Goldcrest
Long-tailed Tit
Swallow!!! (x1)

Numbers of Wigeon, Lapwing, Golden Plover, Curlew and Dark-bellied Brent are really picking up now. It's a not only a great visual spectacle but a real feast for the ears too!

One last thing. If you are planning to visit and have a walk along the sea-bank, make sure you have some good footwear. It is very muddy and slippery at the moment.
