A couple of hours on a bright, breezy and crisp morning along the Lincoln Edge between Bracebridge Heath and Waddington.
At dawn corvids were noted departing the Hartsholme/Swanholme roost area and heading off to the east as were a variety species of gulls departing the Hykeham pits area and heading in the same direction - nice to see a different perspective having observed the evening roosts of both. Good numbers of Wood Pigeons crashing out of the hedgerows and bushes also at first light.
Visible Migration was slow but with a few species mainly WSW of the following:
Wood Pigeon - 152 in several groups mainly SW Fieldfare - 27 mainly WSW Redwing - 5 SSW Blackbird - 4 W Skylark - 16 S Starling - 31 WSW Chaffinch - 2 S Magpie - 1 Swan sp. - 13 flew east with 3 grey geese at 08.10 to the north of Bracebridge but were too far away to i'd
Other birds around included:
Buzzard - 1 in great early morning light flying slowly close past just below eye level Sparrowhawk - 1 male Kestrel - 1 male Blackbird - 6 Fieldfare - 3 Redwing - 2 Linnet - 29 in stubble field Jay - 1 flying low north along hedgerow looking slightly out of place.
