A drive down Tritton Road in Lincoln this morning produced a Sparrowhawk dashing across the road near Sainsburys in pursuit of a small bird; tucking it's wings in as it negotiated a small gap and continuing out of sight towards Starmers Pit. 100 yards further on a Kestrel plummeted into the verge and was rewarded with a mouse lunch. Great examples of nature's adaptability; you don't always have to be in remote places to see great sights. Oliver. |

Also just off Tritton Road, on Dixon Street last Thursday morning at 7.15am, I disturbed a Woodcock, under the tree outside my lab..... Another good city bird. Regards David |
