Whooper Swan, 12 >S along beach this morning at 0730hrs.
Pink-feet flocks could be heard flying south during morning and early afternoon, but working in garden, so only saw part flocks
Bean Geese? party of 12 grey geese over garden and only one single call from a single bird, which wasn't pink-foot. Seen later at distance flying over fields, so may be around for a few days.

Watch from high dune north of Brickyard 1415 to 1520hrs:

Pink-feet, 226 >S in 5 skeins, with a further 55 seen at 1700hrs. These skeins were both coming off the sea, whilst others could be seen coming down the coast from the coast well north of Saltfleet.
Honey buzzard, 1 coming south along dunes low down, but turned back by 7 mobbing crows.
Marsh harrier, 1 high up in cumulus clouds drifting >SW
Kestrel, 3
Sparrow hawk, 2
Swallows and H. martins, about 20 feeding high and drifting south
Goldfinch, 140>S in 3 groups. NB, flock 90+ at Pyes Hall yesterday.
Chiffchaff, 3 but local late breeding group. Adult has been singing this week
Long-tailed tit, 2 groups of c15 in total but local
Goldcrests, c7 in area, but probably 30+ down to Crook Bank. Been steady numbers since early September, which is heartening after last year's low numbers
Redpoll, 1 and 1 at southern end of reserve.
Cormorant, 22 over sands

Eider, 2m>N over sea at southern end reserve at 1700hrs
Great-crested grebe, 1 on sea
Red-throated diver, 1 on sea.
Wheatear, 1

Regards
Cliff
