I never pass up the chance to check out 'Toby's Hill' if I'm birding in the area. Unfortunately I haven't found a lot their in the past few years.

not found a lot Derick! I've never found anything in there at all although it always seems to look as if it should have something and if it was at Spurn I am sure it would be a mega spot --

I know exactly what you mean Graham.
That's why I just can't pass 'Saltfleet' without spending an hour or so searching the place for that mega that's lurking somewhere in their..

I recall finding a 'Barred Warbler' not too long ago, near that small brick building. Had a couple of Ring Ouzel last year for 10 seconds, until one of the dog walkers that unfortunately frequent 'Toby's Hill' let his 2 dogs off their leads.

Toby's Hill has produced Yellow-browed's and Firecrests before in the sheltered areas on the reserve but admittedly not much else - always worth a look if conditions are favourable though. The scattered bushes with open areas always looks good for a shrike (maybe one day!) + the view from the top of the hill is ideal for any raptor or geese movements.
