3 hours around Rimac lunchtime produced: 2 redstarts – 1st winter male just south of car park, adult male on coast track near Sea View. 2 jack snipe on saltmarsh (almost trod on one of them). 2 small flock of velvet scoter flying south seen from the tideline. 2 unidentified shearwater drifting lazily north. Large, but smaller than a gannet (a flock of the latter flew past south so size comparison easy). A competent birder would have identified them!
