Birds were evidently skulking out of view and away from the strong winds. Migrants found at the south end were 25 Goldcrests, 12 Robins, 5 Common Redstarts, 3 Song Thrushes, 2 Yellow-browed Warblers, 2 Chiffchaffs, Brambling, Tree Pipit and Pied Flycatcher. One Yellow-browed was in the willow hedge by North Flash and the other was in hawthorns south of the coastguard cottages. Other birds of interest on the dunes included Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 34 Swallows, 8 House Martins and a Sparrowhawk. At sea, 250 Common Scoters, one Velvet Scoter, 50 Gannets and a Great Skua were recorded.

I had an hour at Pye's this morning before having to head off to work. The conditions were difficult in the strong winds but there were plenty of birds about at dawn:

Yellow-browed Warbler - 1 showed well at the hall
Pied Fly- 1
Garden Warbler - 1
Robin - 20
Song Thrush - 6
Chiffchaff - 2
Hen Harrier - 1
