Richard Lorand and I did a 5 hour sea watch today in a freshening easterly wind with squalls. Good southerly movement of gannets and 1 sooty shearwater north: Gannet, 310>S, 40>N Sooty shearwater, 1> Arctic skua, 9>, 2>S Pomarine skua, 1>N Bonxie, 2>N, 3>S Guillemot, 6>N, 2>S, 3 on sea Red-throated diver, 5>N, 16>S, 3 on sea Common scoter, 123>N, 3>S Wigeon, 5>N Teal 13>N, 4>S Great-crested grebe, 1>N, 1>S Brent goose, 1>N Sandwich tern, 21>S Commic tern 7>N Lesser black-backed gull, 3 Sanderling, 2 Bar-tailed godwit, 10 on practice golf course Starling 170 ............................. |
