Post subject:  Saltfleet high tide WeBS

0700-1200hrs

Gannets, still common offshore earlier in morning but direction of movement not as defined as yesterday. At least 100 seen,with single groups of 31 and 17 but not counted systematically.
Red-throated diver, 1 on sea and 2 flying locally.
Guillemot, 5 juvs. on sea and at least another 5 flying locally offshore.
Razorbill, 1 juv . bird on sea. Black-backed, black cap and pale/suffused white area extending up towards rear of head, as per jackdaw, which gave capped appearance.
Common scoter, 5
Arctic skua, 1
Sandwich tern 14
Oystercatcher 550+, of which 200 flew north on falling tide
Curlew, 180
Whimbrel, 2
Redshank, 160+
Greenshank, 1
Golden Plover, 200+
Bar-tailed godwit 11
All other smaller waders in single figures.

Rock pipit, 2
Lapland bunting, 1
