I've never seen so many, together. They were out in the middle of a beaten-up road, in between Wilksby and Mareham-le-Fen. I went back two days later and they were still there, though not in such great numbers - and they definetly were grey, not red-legged!!! |

I wonder whether these are recently released birds as there is a large shooting estate nearby? |

Your guess is as good as mine. I don't ever recall shooting happening, there; but that is in no way saying that it doesn't happen. |
