Counted the gull roost from dunes at Brickyard Lane. Now that harvesting is underway, gull numbers are really building:

In excess of 4,000 birds of which 3,000 black-headed,1,000 commons, 6 greater b-c and 25 herrings plus 2 jug kittiwakes and 1 jug Med gull.

There were over 30 gannets feeding and resting on the sea, but only about 25 sandwich terns, although 60+ comic gulls came in towards dark. 2 Pom skuas and 2 Arctic skuas preferred chasing the comics, whilst the Poms also harassed the black-headed gulls over the sea.

100+ common scoters were on the sea.

45 Oystercatchers and 6 dunlin south.

Regards
Cliff
