FISKERTON SCRAPES (12.8.2012): Greylag geese(30), Whooper Swan, Lapwings, mallards, Jack Snipe(3), and oystercatcher. Interesting site. This is only my second visit. Who provided the hide, by the way? |

Hi Aiden The site is owned by "Hugh Bourne Farming" who have provided the hide and allowed access. Russell P.S. I know some people refer to Common Snipe as Jack Snipe, were your's the real thing? if so that is a good record for the site as I do not think any have been recorded before there. |

Hi Russell, I cannot be sure they were Jack snipe, the light was quite poor by this time, however they did appear rather small, and this is the only thing I could go on. They were very keen to go into the reeds and hide! Perhaps you could attempt to verify? Aidan Turner |

They are very unlikely to be Jack Snipe as they are a scarce passage migrant and winter visitor and are not generally recorded in August, if at all. |
