A bit more passage this morning at Donna Nook NNR, a few Swift flew south followed by 3 Hobby's (2 together). In the bushes were Blackcap and Whitethroat and a juvenile Wheatear was on the marsh. Geoff |

Also of relevance at the south end of Donna Nook this morning were 9 Kestrels, possibly a different Hobby chasing Swallows over the sandflats, 260 Swallows south, 8 Common Whitethroats, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Corn Bunting, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 200 Sandwich Terns, 15 Common Terns, 4 Arctic Terns, 5 Arctic Skuas, 10 Gannets, Mediterranean Gull and 40 Common Scoters. SL |

On the afternoon shift between Stonebridge & Pyes Hall: 1 imm Peregrine 1 Marsh Harrier flew west 8 Kestrel between Stonebridge & Pyes 1 Curlew Sandpiper 1 Common Sandpiper 2 Whimbrel 2 Yellow Wagtail regards Chris |

Further to yesterday's observations, there were a few species of note between Stonebridge and Pye's Hall again this morning. 15 Kestrels, mostly hovering over the outmarsh, was a welcome sight and other raptors were singles of Hobby, Common Buzzard and Marsh Harrier. A Common Redstart and a Whinchat offered a foretaste of the weeks to come and a small handful of warblers comprised Whitethroats, Willow Warbler and Reed Warblers. Mainly feeding low over the sandflats, but gradually drifting to the NW were 480 Swallows in contrast to 80 Sand Martins which came in from the mouth of the river and continued southwards. 2 Yellow Wagtails were present and I saw my first juvenile Cuckoo of the season. 90 Golden Plovers were on the shore and 3 Arctic Skuas flew along the tide-line and into the Humber. Morning walk up to Pyes Hall, highlight was a Redstart in the instant hedge (newly reclaimed and replanted) I'm expecting some good birds here in the forthcoming months. A Cuckoo was harassed by a Hobby, 8 Kestrel were again hunting the marsh. Just 1 Swift flew south and the only warblers seen were Blackcap and Whitethroat. Geoff Edit.
