Andrew Vaughan and myself went to Gibraltar Point this morning and managed to dodge the showers that started about lunchtime We were rewarded with grasshopper warbler reeling away between Lills Hut and the visitor centre a turtle dove was close to the north car park but we saw no sign of yesterdays crossbills There was a nice collection of waders around Tennysons Sands including little ringed plover 4 common sandpiper 5 green sandpiper 2 avocet didn't count but 50 at least greenshank 1 curlew 3 black tailed godwit 1 others inncluded little gull 4 but earlier 14 mute swan 8 adults plus 6 chicks
