Hi,

Two stunning adult roseate terns on the lagoon in front of the hide at lunchtime (around high tide). Also several Sandwich terns, lots (200+) of common terns and little tern. They were both ringed on both legs which indicates they're from Coquet Island, sadly they'll be failed adults. The rings apparantly have quite large inscriptions so you might be able to read them if you get a close enough view...

John

Does anyone know if the Roseates are still there today?

The Roseate Tern was showing from the Freiston hide until 2.58 pm when it took off and flew
towards the Wash. After a visit to Frampton, where the Black-necked Grebe was still showing,
we returned to Freiston early evening but the Roseate was not seen again.
No sign of Med. Gulls at Frampton although a member of staff said that one had been seen earlier.

1 unringed adult Roseate Tern on sandy island opposite hide at 14.30 yesterday until 14.50, when it flew east.
