Pallid Harrier juv again this morning 2 miles south of Barton just east of A15 over fields beside by B1206 near Beaumoncote Farm.
Found yesterday by Tom Lowe.

I have just come back from there been there most of the day,and the bird been seen today is a juv Montaques harrier,it does not have the bola,Dave hursthouse had good views with about a dozen others who are all of the same conclusion,whilst i was at beacon hill viewpoint.i had a close view but didnt get to see the head pattern -too brief a view...So thats all i know about todays Viewing

Good Question,didnt see any one with a Camera...

Gonna take another look tommorow maybe..best view from beacon hill,..seems nearer to where it was being viewed from the main rd 2 miles away..

Checked picture of Patrington Pallid on Birdguides, I revisited my thoughts from last week and I am still 100% it was a Juv Monties I had then.

The Harrier was always distant today and despite making three separate visits I was unable to get any good images, but I have put a few shots in the album so as to help discussion.
I cannot see an obvious collar on the bird but there were those present late afternoon that were confident they could discern a collar - with telescope views.
The secondary feathers are very dark, as is the boa which are pro Pallid Harrier features.

I have asked Tom Lowe if he obtained any shots of the bird that clearly show the collar and am awaiting his reply

I was passing through winterton today & very pale harrier flying at back of petrol station...but besides that could anybody please advise where beacon hill view point is..was also at far ings watching both regular harriers..but as i say unaware of beacon hill.

When I found the right spot people were of the opinion that it was a juvenile montys on my first viewing
When it appeared about 16:30 for my second viewing those with better optics than me came to the conclusion that the bola was visible when the bird dropped below the horizon.
For what it is worth the light did improve for me for the second viewing of the bird.
I await conclusions with interest

Having had a look at Roy's posted photos I concluded a Montague's Harrier. I have then compared with Graham's photos of the Patrington bird - it is not the same bird. Anybody doubts this have a look at Graham's blog!!
