1945 hrs 050612
a rosefinch was singing in the blacktorn near Churchill lane car park, not heard
this morning. also a family of bullfinch in same area.

evening walk at rimac 17.30 till 20.00 hrs ish
very quite threatening storm did not materialize
3 cuckoo
male marsh harrier
a cracking hobby
lots of warblers singing late on but no gropper ? where are they not a sign of a song :(
finally 6 crossbill

There are 3 groppers holding territories Terry, all some distance south of Rimac and singing early morning.

the orchid display and the absolute peace together with the flowers made the walk well worth it, thanks john :D

One of the benifits of the dismal wet weather is the floral display,
cannot remember seeing so much field mouse-ear as this year,
as you say Terry its a splendid sight.
Glad you saw the Hobby its been around for a few days now.
