Post subject:  Crossbill influx

Yesterday morning while carrying out a BBS just west of Gib 5 crossbills flew towards the coast, followed by 15 dropping into a farm copse a little later.

This morning at Gib several parties of crossbills were heading south totalling 117 beween 0700 and 0900. Largest flock of 63 !

Small numbers of hirundines, swifts and linnets on the move and one buzzard south.

600 sanderling came up on the tide.
