Dropped into Crowle waste after trip to Blacktoft where I unexpectedly got spasmodic glimpses of a marsh warbler but better still..........heard it......... alas not in lincs! Anyhow............. back at Crowle soon saw 2 tree pipits showing very well then walked along trails for another mile or so until I seemed to be engulfed in nettles and the path ran out! Lost again. Saw a hobby hawking over the waste (though probably now into thorne moors and south yorks again!) but two cuckoos calling well into the lincolnshire side. Damn near took my exhaust off getting out of the place and this evening discovered 2 ticks as I luxuriated in bath with large scotch. Could have been fleas but made no attempt to jump (could be drowned I suppose). Note to self dont wear shorts next time .......... also bitten to smithereens by mossies. But worth it to watch the tree pipits at such close quarters for so long. Blathering on............. time for another scotch danny
