A 2nd cy male Golden Oriole seen this evening flying from North Somercotes, over Steve Clark's garage services premises and across to my garden in Marsh Lane. Very little was seen on the dunes this morning, best being 4 Cuckoos, 2 Short-eared Owls and 2 Turtle Doves.

The Golden Oriole had moved from my garden by 0730 this morning, but I could still hear it singing one field away in the garden of either Elm Farm or its neighbouring property in Donna Nook Road. The song was delivered regularly and carried well on the south-eastery wind. Later, on my way to the dunes, I had hoped to catch a glimpse of the bird, but all I could hear was the constant barking of dogs in the nearby animal rescue compound on the opposite side of the road.
