RBA reports a Hoopoe at Spalding for its 5th day - in an area with no general access. It would be nice to have one turn up somewhere in the county where we could actually get to see it. Roy |

The Spalding Hoopoe has to fly sooner or later, and perhaps not very far......so your wish may soon be granted, Roy. ![]() Freddy PS. I noted the report on BirdGuides this morning and thought the same as you....and hoped Norfolk wouldn't be its next destination. ![]() |

Oh, Dad - I am SO sorry!!!!!! ![]() ** sympathetic Facepalm ** The Hoopoe, along with the Great Bustard, are the 2 birds he most deeply wants to see in his life! The weekend we have visitors, THIS happens! To make it worse, he has a cold and has been knocking back the Lemsip!!!! |

The Hoopoe was looked for this morning but no joy. It was seen well yesterday on a footpath off Burgh Road and had apparently been present since Thursday which is surprising as the area is prone to a lot of disturbance being well used by dog walkers. Regards Nige |
