Hi Paul I would say exceptionally high numbers of Whimbrel having looked through my records at this location over many years! Presumably they were grounded/feeding flocks. With regard to the Ruff the word Lek is one I normally associate with Black Grouse so presumably there was some communial displaying by the males. Any ideas numerically about the split of the sexes. Were the males displaying in groups to the females? I would appreciate a bit more info please. Kind regards George Bishop |
