Managed to find a two hour slot this afternoon when it didn't rain
Chiffchaff 16+
Willow Warbler 12+
Blackcap at least 6 counted
Goldeneye 2 females
Teal 2
House Martin 12 (first of the year)
Swallow c24
Sand Martin 8
Song Thrush 1
Mistle Thrush 2
Bullfinch 3 (2 female)
Green Woodpecker 1
Oystercatcher 3
Jay 2
Didn't hear a Nightingale although they are present

Its been a dire week for Nightingales at Whisby due to the cold and wet. There are probably 4 birds back that I know of with any singing currently confined to the mornings (probably later on in the evening as well). To be honest afternoons are probably the worst time of day to listen/look for them!

Once this weather front moves out of the way, I'm hoping things will pick up.
