Directions for the Black-winged Stilt at Willow Tree Fen, the new fenland restoration Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust Reserve.

The car park is off the Pode Hall to Tongue End (Baston to Spalding) road, opposite Bank House Farm, and is clearly signposted. From the car park walk down the main track, and the Stilt is about half way down in the triangular field on the left. Please keep to the track and do not not enter any fields.

A nice find by Marcus Claythorne the Warden! Now we know where the Rutland bird got to.

Where will it be tomorrow.... (taking bets on Frampton RSPB, Titchwell RSPB, Gib Point, Holme NNR or Far Ings.....)

The bird today was always distant, in a biting fenland wind. (Not the day to forget my coat!)

How big is this site? Sounds like an exciting project! Bitterns by 2015?

Being very brave I would say Brigsley I will be on the look out tomorrow as I have had waders before. But a more sensible guess as the bird doesn't seem to travel great distances I would have to say Frampton RSPB. Hopefully the bird is re-found in Lincolnshire (Not Norfolk)

Reported by Reg Rice as still being present at Willow Tree Fen 1400-1500 today (15/4/12).

Also 20 Swallow passed northward.
