I had a phone call on Saturday evening from a friend in the next village who said he had a Black Redstart in his garden. I dashed straight over and sure enough a lovely male bird was there. Sadly, no sign of it this morning.

Highly unlikely to be the same individual Anthony as quite a lot of Black Redstarts are moving through Britain at this time of the year.

Hi Roy,
I keep looking at Rainham steel, theres one good area now, looks ideal,an area of rubble heaps, mixed concrete bars, and loads of wooden posts a small old wrecked buliding, etc etc,but to no avail, had one female Black redstart in late march one year here, none since..
Regards,
Rog.
