Generally quiet today, but a fine party of 7 Shore Larks in superb plumage on the marsh and near the flashes in the cattle enclosure at the south end of Donna Nook. I first saw them at 1040 and they were quite flighty before settling to feed in a partly flooded area of heavily grazed reeds. They were not there at 1125 and were perhaps on the closeby beach which unfortunately has restricted access due to bombing. The only other birds of note this morning were a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a male Ruff now present for its fourth day and 2 Short-eared Owls.
Regards SL.
