I visited this wood this afternoon to check it out for the coming Nightingale Survey. The habitat looked good with plenty of thick coppice regrowth. A quick walk around the outside produced at least 7 Marsh Tits - a pair, 2 singing males and a threesome. The singing birds gave a rapidly repeating chi-chi-chi-chi-chi-chi, lasting about 1-2 seconds overall. A flock of 40 Fieldfares landed in the tree tops in a corner of the wood.
